In order to promote the development of medical simulation education in China’s standardized training base for resident doctors, build a platform for exchanging medical simulation education experience, and promote the improvement of the connotation and quality of post-graduation medical education, from December 13 to 15, 2024, Sponsored by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the “2024 Medical Simulation Education Conference for Post-graduation Medical Education and the First Standardized Training for Resident Doctors Guiding Physician Teaching Ability Competition” was held in Guangzhou. It was jointly organized by the Expert Committee of post-graduation Medical Simulation Education of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Peking University People’s Hospital, Pearl River Hospital of Southern Medical University and Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. The conference, with the theme of “Building outstanding pilot and human skills together”, included 1 main forum, 6 sub-forums, 6 workshops and 1 competition, inviting 46 well-known medical simulation education experts from across the country to discuss the current situation and future development of post-graduation medical simulation education. More than 1,100 representatives from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) were gathered at the event, and more than 2.3 million people followed the live online competition.
Xi Huan, Vice President of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Yi Xuefeng, Vice Director of Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, Huang Hanlin, Vice President of Guangdong Provincial Medical Doctor Association, Liu Shuwen, Vice President of Southern Medical University and Guo Hongbo, President of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. In the past ten years, China’s post-graduation medical education has achieved remarkable results, and medical simulation teaching has played an important role in improving the quality of training and ensuring the safety of patients. We hope to take this competition as an opportunity to further promote the development of medical simulation education in China and improve the quality of residential training.
