During IFA 2023, JBL introduced three new headphones, including its first open-back Soundgear Sense headphones that can be used all day long.
The LIVE 770NC on-ear headphones and the LIVE 670NC on-ear headphones join JBL’s popular LIVE headphone series. Both feature true adaptive noise cancellation, intelligent ambient technology, and advanced personalization features.
The headphones feature True Adaptive ANC technology, as well as an Intelligent Ambient Mode that reproduces ambient sounds when needed. Bluetooth 5.3 with LE sound.
These new social headphones feature air conduction technology and are designed for users who want to enjoy personal audio while still being able to hear their surroundings throughout the day.
The Soundgear Sense model is equipped with special speakers with a diameter of 16.2 mm with a bass enhancement algorithm. They are located on the curve of the ear and do not block the ear canal. Typical applications are outdoor activities or office use.
JBL Soundgear Sense also supports multipoint connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 and LA Audio, and is IP54 rated for protection from sweat, dust and rain. A removable neck strap provides additional security during training.
The JBL LIVE 770NC and JBL LIVE 670NC are available in black, white, blue and sand and will cost £159.99/€179.99 and £119.99/€129.99 respectively when they go on sale at the end of September.
The JBL Soundgear Sense will be available in black and white from the end of September, priced at £129.99/€149.99.

StereoNET (UK) is part of a network of international publications wholly owned by Sound Media International Pty Ltd.
Each time a product is reviewed by StereoNET, it will be considered for an Applause Award. This award recognizes that this is a design of outstanding quality and uniqueness – whether in terms of performance, value for money or both, it is a special product in its category.
The Applause Awards are presented personally by StereoNET Editor-in-Chief David Price, who has over three decades of experience reviewing high-quality products at the highest level, in consultation with our senior editorial team. They do not automatically come with all reviews and manufacturers cannot purchase them.
StereoNET’s editorial team includes some of the most experienced and respected journalists in the world, with a wealth of knowledge. Some of them edited popular English-language hi-fi magazines, and others were senior writers for prominent audio magazines in the late 1970s. We also have professional IT and home theater experts working with the latest modern technology.
We believe no other online hi-fi and home theater resource offers an experience like this, so when StereoNET presents an Applause Award, it’s a mark of quality you can trust. Receiving such an award is a prerequisite for eligibility for the annual Product of the Year award, which recognizes only the best products in the relevant categories. Hi-Fi, home theater and headphone shoppers can rest assured that the StereoNET Applause Award winners deserve your full attention.
