① The model set consists of modules for six different cervical changes in relation to the birth canal.
② The set models the size ofthe dilated cervical opening, the degree of change in the cervical canal, and the position ofthe fetal head in relation to the
plane ofthe sciatic spine for cervical examination.
③ Changes in each part of the dilatation phase of the first stage of labor:
-Stage l: There is no dilatation of the cervical opening, no disappearance ofthe cervical canal,
and the position ofthe fetal head in relation to the plane ofthe sciatic spine is-5.
-Stage 2: The cervical opening is dilated by 2 cm, the cervical canal has disappeared by 50%,
and the position of the fetal head in relation to the plane ofthe sciatic spine is -4.
- Stage 3: The cervical opening is dilated by 4 cm, the cervical canal has completely
disappeared, and the position ofthe fetal head in relation to the plane ofthe sciatic spine is -3.
-Stage 4: The cervical opening is dilated by 5 cm, the cervical canal has completely
disappeared, and the position ofthe fetal head in relation to the plane ofthe sciatic spine is zero.
-Stage 5: The cervical opening is dilated by 7 cm, the cervical canal has completely
disappeared, and the position ofthe fetal head in relation to the plane ofthe sciatic spine is +2.
-Stage 6: Cervical dilatation of 10cm, complete disappearance ofthe cervical canal, and the
position ofthe fetal head in relation to the plane ofthe sciatic spine is +5.
